9:00 – 11:00 am – The Frankfort Younger Women’s Club and Digital Expressions Photography invite you to bring the kiddos to Collins Lane Elementary for breakfast with Santa and photos too! Games, cake walk, crafts for only $5 per person, or $3 per person with a non-perishable food donation. Benefits the Franklin County Women’s Shelter.
10:00 am – 6:00 pm – Celebrate Christmas and visit a Frankfort treasure as well and head on down to the Old Governor’s Mansion. For $20, you can tour Christmas at the Old Governor’s Mansion where all proceeds will benefit the Kentucky Executive Mansions Foundation, Inc, benefitting the Old Governor’s Mansion. Tours are offered through December 9, 2012, Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm. The Old Governor’s Mansion is located at 420 High Street. 11:00 am – 3:00 pm – Stop by the Dollar General Store to DONATE Pet Food and Supplies to benefit the Franklin County Humane Society.
1:00 – 3:00 pm – At the Paul Sawyier Library, you can join the CK Pro Team and other local river and stream anglers, to discuss the sport we all love or are learning to love. This four part series will cover all the aspects of kayak fishing, from beginner and basic terms, to casting techniques, to rigging your kayak, and more. These seminars are perfec for those interested in the sport or just getting into it, as well as those seasoned paddlers that have more to share. Spend time with like minded folks and help us build the local fishing and paddling community. It only means good things for all of us when we work together with a common bond. These sessions will be held at the Paul Sawyier Public Library in Frankfort, the indoor pool at the Frankort YMCA, or at Canoe Kentucky. Please check FB to determine exact time and place. The seminars will be held once a month beginning in December. 4:00 pm – Come on down to Completely Kentucky, for Josephine Summer Stage Auditions for 2013 Production As You Like It Comes to Josephine Sculpture Park Next Summer! Frankfort. Frankfort/Lexington-area actors will audition at 237 West Broadway, Frankfort, in the upstairs room at Completely Kentucky at 4:00p.m. Both sets of auditions will be conducted on Saturday, December 1, 2012. Josephine SummerStage seeks actors for a variety of roles in Shakespeare’s As You Like It; some roles may be double cast. Actors should bring a headshot and resume, prepare a Shakespearean monologue to perform, and be prepared to read from As You Like It. The production is June 7-16, with rehearsals beginning the final week of April. The majority of rehearsals are held in Louisville. All actors will receive an honorarium and some travel expenses. The 2013 production of As You Like It is sponsored by The Kentucky Employees Credit Union, returning as the Josephine Summerstage production sponsor for their second year. This is the third summer of Shakespearean productions at Josephine Sculpture Park; the 2011 inaugural production was Macbeth, featuring “The Crucible” sculpture by Douglass Schatz, and last summer’s production was The Tempest and featured “The Clarity Vehicle” sculpture by Mollie Rabiner. 5:30 pm – Can’t get enough of the Christmas Spirit? For our neighbors just down the road in Anderson County, join our local crew from Froggy 104.9 as they roll in the Lawrenceburg Parade of Lights. The parade will step off @ 5:30 p.m. and travel down Broadway; north on Main Street through downtown and finish at the entrance at Mustang Way.
