Despite the unusually cold weather for October, the Good Shepherd School’s 2nd Annual “Ride for the Green” went off from Kentucky Riverview Park on Saturday, October 26th. Originally scheduled for Saturday, October 19th to be in conjunction with the Good Shepherd Parish Fair, the weather dampened the event then and forced them to reschedule. Less people rode in this year’s event. But the ones that showed up had a great time. There were two bike events this year. New to the “Ride for the Green” was a 24 mile bike ride. Two brave souls took off at 8 am and road through downtown Frankfort and out to Woodford Reserve and back. While the more family friendly 3 mile ride ran through downtown Frankfort. The sponsor scooter race was a two man race this year, although there were several sponsors for this event. The reining scooter champion, Will Renshaw, lost in the best of two out of three races to Michael Mueller, who takes the coveted traveling trophy back to his business to display for the next year. This event is a fund raiser proceeds go to GSS.
