Pet Adoption Expo hosted by the Franklin County Humane Society and the Kentucky Historical Society on Saturday, September 13th at the Old Capital Lawn. Dan will be broadcasting live from 12-2

Volunteers from FCHS, Anderson Humane and Life House will be there with adoptable dogs and cats (Life House, …just dogs). This will allow potential adopters to see a wide variety of adoptable pets outside the shelter setting. They can take their time and get to know each animal, walk the dogs, etc. They could do meet and greets with their current pets and other family members. Each shelter will set their own adoption procedures and fees. Adopters need to bring payment for adoption fees but otherwise they won’t need to bring anything.

They will be giving away a ceramic pet dish with each adoption compliments of the students at Broadway Clay. Additional ceramic pet bowls will be available for a donation.

1:00 – 4:00 pm – Family Fun Saturday: Splendiferous Scrapbooks,  Kentucky Inventors, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, 100 W. Broadway.  Combine scrapbooking and journaling in a ribbon-bound booklet inspired by a 1920s scrapbook in the KHS collection. For kids ages 5-10.  Come anytime between 1 and 4 p.m. Admission is free and separate from attending a KHS museum, which has paid admission. Info: 502-564-1792
