Star 103.7 and Farmers Bank & Capital Trust Co. are proud to be hosting the 2015 Easter Egg Roll!

Admission:

The Easter Egg Roll promotes literacy in Franklin County. We are asking that you donate a new or gently used book for admission. We will donate these books to the Reach Out and Read program.

Win:

The first 300 kids will receive a free goody bag brought to you by KECU.

Be sure to check in at the Star tent to get your wrist band for the egg roll.

The Egg Roll will be split into age groups 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. The winner of each Egg Roll heat will win a small prize! The Egg Rolls will start at 11am.

Golden Eggs! Adults have a chance to win $103.  If you find a golden egg in your child’s goody bag you will have a chance to play Make It Or Break It! We will have all the adults line up and hand them each a poncho.  Adults will then pick one egg to break on their head! We will have a dozen eggs and only ONE is boiled. If the egg you pick doesn’t crack…you win $103!

Activities:

  • The Easter Bunny will be taking pictures from 10 am – 11 am
  • Free popcorn will be available and hosted by volunteers from Sam’s Club in Lexington.
  • Photos taken by April Cole of Capital Living & Digital Expressions
  • We will be broadcasting live thanks to Fit Time For Women.
  • Kentucky Employees Credit Union will have a Duck Pond Game
  • Y.M.C.A. Crayon Club will have a bunny & chick toss game!
  • Thorn Hill Education Center the FLIP (Families Leaning through Interaction Program) will have an egg dyeing station
  • Woodford County Humane Society will have adoptable pets and free balloons.
  • Lifehouse For Animals will have adoptable pets and free face painting!
  • Franklin County Human Society will have adoptable pets & a coloring station.

10:00 am – 4:00 pm – George Washington and the West, A K-12 Educators Professional Development Workshop.  at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, 100 W Broadway.  Learn a fresh approach and how to apply 21st Century standards to teaching about George Washington.  FREE event, lunch provided. 10:30 am, 12 noon, 1:30 and 3:00 pm – Old State Capitol Tours,  Tours start at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, 100 W. Broadway. Admission: $4 adults; $2 youth (6-18). Price includes admission to the Kentucky Historical Society’s exhibitions “A Kentucky Journey” and “Hall of Governors.”

1:00 – 4:00 pm – Family Fun Saturday: Quilting Kentucky!  Children ages 5-10 can explore quilting traditions used by Kentucky women and make your own cardboard loom. 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. (come anytime) at the Thomas D. 1:00 – 4:00 pm Things I’ve Yet to Say: Further Investigations into Memoir Writing, at the Paul Sawyier Public Library, 319 Wapping St. Normandi Ellis, award winning author of ten books and certified poetry facilitator will help writers find their voice and tell their stories in a manner that resonates with them. 7:00 pm – Ghost Tour at Buffalo Trace Distillery, It’s rumored that there are more spirits at the Distillery than those aging in barrels. You will hear legendary stories and get a look at some of the Distillery’s most haunted areas, including Stony Point Mansion, where it’s been said that the ghost of Col. Blanton still resides.
