Supporters, Board Directors, volunteers and members of the Franklin County Chapter of the American Red Cross gathered Thursday evening at the historic Glen Willis House to enjoy the best bourbon & wine in the area, a silent auction with chocolate confections and hors d’oeuvres by Terri’s Catering, to wrap up the annual Heroes Campaign, a grassroots fundraising effort where “heroes” volunteer to raise funds.  The campaign ran through March and April.  The paid event and silent auction is intended to help push the fundraising efforts by the Franklin County Chapter.  This year’s efforts fell short of the goal, but the Red Cross is still accepting donations for this campaign.  To donate, contact the local Chapter of the Red Cross at (502) 223-1795, or stop by 318 Washington Street in downtown Frankfort when you make your regular blood donation on Fridays.

Among the distilleries and wineries participating in the event were Buffalo Trace Distillery, Four Roses Distillery, Jim Beam Brands and Rising Sons Winery.  Confections auctioned off during the evening were donated by local bakers.
