Want to have fun while helping us out this Saturday?
This Saturday (Oct. 3) marks the debut of the KY History Half, the Commonwealth’s first half marathon celebrating Kentucky’s proud history. This charitable event, taking place in downtown Frankfort starting bright and early that morning, also offers a fun way to support the educational programming and services of the Kentucky Historical Society in its mission to educate and engage the public through Kentucky history in order to confront the challenges of the future. As of today (Monday), we have 500 runners signed up from more than 20 states — and Russia!
An event of this magnitude requires a lot of teamwork, and we’re super excited about the response from the community and from our volunteers and staff in helping make this a successful event.
That’s where we’re hoping you can help, too. We have a few more volunteer posts that need filling, especially along the course routes, showing runners the way to go and cheering them along their way.
If you’d like to be a part of this fun event — and did we mention you’ll get a nifty Race Crew tee along with our gratitude? — please contact KHS’s volunteer coordinator Phyllis Gilman at firstname.lastname@example.org. She can provide details, including schedule — and sign you up, too!
