SFNA news – the big snow

The latest weather information can be found at the NWS-Louisville office website or facebook page:http://www.weather.gov/lmk/

FPB phone number to report outages: 502-352-4372

All State offices are closed tomorrow. Because of the expected hazardous travel conditions, most other things are closing too (schools etc)

TRASH & RECYCLING ARE POSTPONED UNTIL MONDAY
Solid Waste will be cancelling it’s Friday, January 22 pick-up and will use Monday, January 25 to pick up in those scheduled neighborhoods.

Right now it looks like we will escape the ice and just get snow. The City and County are asking to people to park off the street where possible and if you have to park on the street to try to group vehicles together to allow the plows to work most effectively.

The timing of the snow for Frankfort is still variable, we’re on the border between 7am-10am and 10am-1pm tommorow. It’s best to be prepared now — charge your phone and tablets now, locate your flashlight. Both the Frankfort Police Dept and the City have apps for smartphones and tablets which you can install.

Travel conditions on Friday are expected to be hazardous, please be careful if you must go out. Stay tuned to local news or radio for updates on conditions as the storm develops. Local radio includes Star 103.7, Froggy and Passport (AM and FM). http://mypassportradio.com/

Snow shoveling can be a health hazard, read this article for some safety tips:

We’re working on the date for the next Quarterly SFNA meeting and will send that around once we have set the time and location.

Stay safe!
