The opening round of the Kentucky All “A” Classic Basketball Tournament saw the high school boys from 16 regions show up at the Frankfort Convention Center and play some exciting ball on the hardwood.

Many familiar teams returned to Frankfort to defend represent their regions.  Among them were Cordia, Glasgow, University Heights, Danville, Lexington Christian Academy, Newport Central Catholic, and Bishop Brossart.  Owen County returned to the hardwood floor at the Frankfort Convention Center after their win earlier this month in the Kentucky-Indiana Challenge Cup help retain the trophy for the Commonwealth.

The Owen County Rebels brought a great game as they took on the Kentucky Country Day Bearcats in a Thursday night match up. #33 Carson Williams was red hot as he provided 33 of the 56 points in the 56-49 win.  By far the largest crowds yet of the tournament, these Owen County pans really knew to bring it for their team!  Owen County will face off against Morgan County on Friday at 8:00 pm.
