As a Frankfort resident, we take pride in our small capital city.  With the recent release of the  North Star Destination Strategies data analysis of Frankfort and Franklin County for the Branding Initiative, it’s obvious that the residents who took the surveys see the beauty and value of living, working and playing here. But are frustrated and even are downright indignant of the opinion that “no one else in the world seems to appreciate our city like we do”!  As a community, it is our responsibility to be the “voice” of this perceived injustice.  From the research provided, outsiders usually “pass through” the city and do not appreciate the beauty, charm, and history that sets our capital city apart from the other forty-nine in the nation, let alone cities and towns within the commonwealth.  But times, they are a changing!

Recently, the Frankfort/Franklin County Tourism office, was notified of an article that was being featured in an upcoming issue of Southern Lady Magazine. This bi-monthly magazine was founded in 1999, and “celebrates, delights, and inspires women who live in the South—and those who are simply Southern at heart.” Their goal is to “strive to bring a bit of Southern hospitality into the lives of each and every reader.”  And that’s just what they did when they featured our beloved Frankfort, Kentucky in the upcoming March/April issue.

We love their byline for this article online:
