Telling the big story of Kentucky’s small-town capital city
In November of 2004, the Capital City Museum opened its doors to the public. Housed in a 150 year old building that represents all that is left of the Capital Hotel, which burned in 1917, the museum is a large room filled with history and character. There are plenty of details to explore, with exhibits painting a vivid picture of both political and personal life in Kentucky over the past 200 years.
The Capital City Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday
Admission to the museum is free.

4:00 – 7:00 pm – Antony Payton, at Talon Winery, Gordon Ln, Shelbyville
Anthony Payton is a native of Leesville, Louisiana. AP has a background in gospel, pop, soul, R&B, and jazz. When he was young, he would bang on the church piano as often as he could and quickly developed a love for music. As a solo artist, Payton has proven himself well on his debut CD. The result is a near perfect love and romantic music disc that represents the R&B song to a potentially wide ranging audience. Payton’s voice is strong and versatile with a gentleman’s attitude that is required for this type of musical material. Anthony Payton possesses that rare combination of deep feeling and understanding for his musical heritage while bringing some serious skill to the table. Following his dreams to play in the NFL, Anthony spent 8 years in the Arena Football League. He has played for teams in New Jersey, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Las Vegas, and Louisville. When Anthony heard this very attractive and personable soul sing, he said to himself, “What is this guy doing playing sports?”. He had to make sure he wasn’t already a star, because he definitely sounded like one.
