The Annual Operation Preparation for 8th and 10th grade students will betaking place on the KSU campus March 21st and 22nd. Operation Preparation is a state-wide effort to make students more aware of career possibilities and Volunteers are needed.
This is a great opportunity for community business leaders confer with students to help inform them of the wonderful employment opportunities we may have here in their hometown. If you are able to volunteer for a morning or an afternoon that would be fantastic.
Here’s how the program works:
A small group of students – usually 5 to 8, would come sit with you at a table where you could discuss with them their thoughts on a career.
Your goal is to talk with students and help them begin to understand how their interests may lead to a career that is offered in our community.
You can also let students know the path for their selected career choice. Such has college classes needed, work experience, or intern/co-op opportunities that could assist them in making an informed decision.
I have attached a form that the students complete to better inform us what career interests they may have. It may help you have a better idea of fields they typically choose.
Please take a few minutes and review the attached schedule and see if you could find time to volunteer. If you have a few hours to volunteer, please complete the attached OP Volunteer Form and fax it back to the Chamber office at 502-223-5942
or call 502-223-8261
Thank you in advance and I hope to hear from you soon!
