History professors Melissa McEuen (Transylvania) and Thomas Appleton (Eastern Kentucky) compiled 23 essays that highlight women whose aspirations, innovations, activism and creativity illustrate Kentucky’s role in political and social reform, education, health care, the arts and cutural development
