Last fall hundreds of SSS/FMS students created art around the National PTA Reflections Arts competition theme Let Your Imagination Fly. Twenty one students won in the SSS/FMS PTSA Reflections Arts competition with entries in 4 different categories: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature and Video. All of these entries advanced last fall to compete at the state level PTA reflections competition.
Five Second Street Students have won awards at the state level for their art entries. Additionally, first grade student Emma Cait Johnson’s literature entry, The Polka Dotted Unicorn, will advance to the National level of the competition. These 5 winners will be recognized at the Kentucky PTA Student Recognition ceremony in Lexington on May 14th. Our winners and their categories are:
Emma Cait Johnson – Literature (Primary) – Work will advance to National
Dashel Brown – Visual Arts (Primary)
Carley Chavez – Visual Arts (Intermediate)
Sawyier Shaw – Visual Art (Intermediate)
Joe Gaddis – Photo (Primary)
All 21 of the SSS/FMS winners will be recognized at the April 29th morning assemblies by the SSS/FMS PTSA. We are so proud of these students!
