Buffalo Trace Distillery welcomed 2,273 visitors (a new Record) to the 243 year old historic property on Friday during their annual Oaks Day Festival. Kentucky may be known for its fast horses, but the state’s second favorite past time – bourbon – is drawing record crowds too. They poured into Frankfort to visit the distillery, producers of iconic brands such as Buffalo Trace, Blanton’s, Pappy Van Winkle and many more. They came by the busload and carload to tour the facility, sample the signature spirits, and enjoy the beautiful day. Festival vendors included bourbon infused ice cream and coffee, Frankfort/Franklin County Tourism and the Kentucky Historical Society. The beautiful day brought out more tourists than had been originally anticipated. But the feedback was positive on how the distillery handled the record crowd.
