The City of Frankfort’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Sites is beginning this summer’s concert series at the Ward Oates Amphitheatre with a generous helping of local talent. Performing at 11:30 AM on June 24 will be Ageless Country. Russ Kennedy, Debby Clark, Frank Kemper, Bonnie Reeves and Ronnie Martin make up the group.

Ageless Country specializes in “traditional” country music mixed with a few “modern” tunes. The group is known for strong three-part harmonizing vocals featuring Kemper, Martin, and Clark. Kennedy and Reeves are self-described as “run-down, broke-down, out-of-warranty sidemen still trying to play a song correctly all the way through.” Concert spectators will find out if they succeed.

The Ward Oates Amphitheatre is in Kentucky River View Park at the west end of West Main Street, behind Liberty Hall and the office of the Kentucky Bar Association. Admission to the concert is free. Spectators are encouraged to bring lunch. This concert series has become a popular part of the thriving Frankfort musical scene.
