Leadership Frankfort is a community development program of the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce
The Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce graduated their Leadership Frankfort Class of 2016 on Thursday evening at Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Clubhouse. Thirteen community leaders completed the nine month long program learning about different aspects of Frankfort and Franklin County.
The Leadership Frankfort Program seeks to identify and develop talented and committed citizens who aspire to provide leadership in Frankfort’s business and community activities. The program empowers individuals to make a positive impact on the community.
Planning for the 2016/2017 Leadership program has begun and class applications are available at the Chamber office, 100 Capital Avenue, Frankfort, online at www.frankfortky.info or by calling 223-8261. Applications are being taken for the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Frankfort program until August 26, 2016. If you apply before September 2, 2016 and you will receive a $50 early bird discount.
Leadership Frankfort is a community development program of the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce. The three goals of the program are:
* Provide recognized leadership and teamwork skill training.
* Increase awareness of the resources and challenges of Frankfort & Franklin County.
* Encourage effective participation in responding to community challenges.
Leadership Frankfort is a nine-month course of study and interaction that begins with an overnight retreat in October and continues with full-day “Challenge Day” sessions each month from October through June.
An advisory board chaired by Suzanne Simmons of Whitaker Bank plans each Challenge Day and monitors program progress. Leadership Frankfort is the ideal program for preparing the leaders of tomorrow. During the nine-month program, participants get an in-depth view of community issues, develop leadership skills necessary to assume leadership roles, and are exposed to community involvement opportunities.
Leadership Frankfort provides participants with the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with key community leaders. Participants study the qualities that make an effective leader, analyze individual leadership roles, and develop personal leadership styles and skills. They are then challenged to apply their talents by getting involved in the Frankfort and Franklin County community.
