Beginning December 1, 2016, this new ruling affects everyone who has salaried employees making less than $47,476 annually. The type of business or organization or the number of employees does not automatically exempt you from this requirement. This includes non-profits, government, and education! With the new ruling, it is expected that Wage and Hour will also be looking more closely at compensable time – especially those after hours phone calls, emails, texts, etc.
Don’t miss this workshop to learn how you and your company may be affected by the new overtime ruling and options to consider so you will be in compliance when it goes into effect on December 1, 2016.

Telling the big story of Kentucky’s small-town capital city
In November of 2004, the Capital City Museum opened its doors to the public. Housed in a 150 year old building that represents all that is left of the Capital Hotel, which burned in 1917, the museum is a large room filled with history and character. There are plenty of details to explore, with exhibits painting a vivid picture of both political and personal life in Kentucky over the past 200 years.
The Capital City Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday
Admission to the museum is free.

1:30 pm – Guided Tour of Historic Liberty Hall, at Liberty Hall Historic Site, 218 Wilkinson Street.
Guided tours of Liberty Hall are given Monday-Saturday and depart from Liberty Hall located at 218 Wilkinson Street at 1:30 pm. Tours by appointment may be made during normal office hours with advance notice of 7 days. Guided tours last approximately 75 minutes, ending in the museum store. The grounds of Liberty Hall Historic Site are open to the public daily, dawn to dusk. Leashed dogs are allowed on the grounds. Photographers are welcome with a pass; click here to read more about our photo policy.

School tours must be scheduled in advance. The fee for school tours is $3.00 per child. One chaperon per every 10 children is free; each additional adult pays $5.00. To schedule a school tour, call (502) 227-2560 or contact us by email.
Accessibility
The first floor of the Orlando Brown House is wheelchair accessible via a ramp on Wapping Street, adjacent to the building. A handicapped-accessible restroom is also available at the Orlando Brown House. Please call for more information. Liberty Hall is not wheelchair accessible.

7:00 pm – Ghost Tour at Buffalo Trace Distillery, It’s rumored that there are more spirits at the Distillery than those aging in barrels. You will hear legendary stories and get a look at some of the Distillery’s most haunted areas, including Stony Point Mansion, where it’s been said that the ghost of Col. Blanton still resides. FREE. 7:30 pm – Harry Caudill “A Man of Courage, Constant to the End”, a film by Jerry Deaton, at The Grand Theatre, 308 St. Clair, Frankfort
Harry Caudill, A Man of Courage chronicles the life of author and social activist Harry M. Caudill of Whitesburg, Ky. In 1963, Caudill wrote, Night Comes to the Cumberlands, a book that would shine light on the desperate situation of impoverished eastern Kentuckians and help President Lyndon Johnson implement his War on Poverty program. Caudill’s work lead to the elimination of unfair mining practices, the regulation of strip mining activities, the preservation of the Lilly Cornett Woods and Bad Branch Falls, the initiation of the Coal Severance Tax and the creation of the Appalachian Regional Commission among other things. Caudill was the voice of poor, disenfranchised eastern Kentuckians for more than three decades and has been recognized as one of Kentucky’s top six authors and one of the fifty most influential Kentuckians of all time.
