Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21st. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
With that in mind, Kentucky State University (KSU) and the Kentucky Job Corps held a 1K walk in honor of the International Day of Peace on Wednesday. The walk began at Second Street and Capital Avenue and proceeded to the Kentucky State Capitol. Several Job Corps organizations from across the Commonwealth as well as local leaders joined in the walk. Upon reaching the capitol, the walkers joined hands in unison to show solidarity and offer their commitment to peace.
