The perfect recipe for bourbon history was mixed on Saturday at Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Clubhouse. It took hundreds of historic photos from Buffalo Trace’s archives and the Kentucky Historical Society. Mixed dozens of long-time Frankfort residents and Buffalo Trace employees. Added a lot of laughter and stories with a nice spread of horderves, free bourbon tastings, and small cash bar. And it resulted in two hours of fun and with a lifetime of identified photographic memories.

Buffalo Trace and the Kentucky Historical Society held a joint event on Saturday they called “History Happy Hour”. The evening included experts from the Kentucky Historical Society, Buffalo Trace, and Liberty Hall, and was open to all residents of Frankfort and Franklin County who either would have had knowledge of the distillery or the Frankfort community, through the decades worth of photographs. The images were neatly laid out in binders, allowing old memories to be stirred and the stories to be shared. The event is only the first of many planned of this type. Stay tuned to Capital Living for information on the next event!
