Telling the big story of Kentucky’s small-town capital city
In November of 2004, the Capital City Museum opened its doors to the public. Housed in a 150 year old building that represents all that is left of the Capital Hotel, which burned in 1917, the museum is a large room filled with history and character. There are plenty of details to explore, with exhibits painting a vivid picture of both political and personal life in Kentucky over the past 200 years.
The Capital City Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday
Admission to the museum is free.

Frankfort’s Fishing Reels: Jewels of the Bluegrass
Frankfort has a very unique place in history as being the town where the bait casting fishing reel was perfected and first produced. Every place has its historic event or figure, but only we have this distinction. It was a Frankfort industry for over 100 years. Local craftsmen handmade these gems to fish the renowned streams of central Kentucky. Their reputation for quality and beauty was recognized around the world.

Participants of all fitness levels are welcome to join in yoga class. Classes include breathing exercises, poses and relaxation. We will follow a Yoga workout DVD.

Kentucky Made: Decorative Arts from the Liberty Hall Collection – Ongoing
Featuring some of the finest examples of Kentucky-made pieces from the Liberty Hall collection, this exhibit explores the social and cultural landscape of 19th-century Kentucky through the work of silversmiths, weavers, furniture makers, and . Some of the artists represented include: Asa Blanchard, Matthew Harris Jouett, Oliver Frazer, and Paul Sawyier. Located on the 2nd Floor of Liberty Hall, the exhibit is only viewed through a guided tour.

Kentucky State University will host its 3rd annual Color Run to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and other causes that may affect our community.
5:00 – 9:00 pm – Jammin’at Jeptha! feat Jeff Barnes Band, at Jeptha Creed Distillery, 500 Gordon Lane, Shelbyville
Every Friday Jeptha Creed Distillery will be jammin’ with great live music playing on the patio, local food trucks available, and craft cocktails at the bar! Music will be from 6-9pm. Food trucks will be available from 5-9pm. The bar will be open until 10pm.

Olivia Rudeen is a singer/songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Originally from Denver, CO, Olivia moved to the Music City in 2013 and began working with the publishing/licensing team at The Song Factory. In the past few years, she has shared the stage with Courtyard Hounds, DeVotchKa, Air Dubai, Charlie Mars, and Madi Diaz, among many others. Her last EP, released in 2012 and produced by Jimmy Stofer (The Fray, Rosehill Drive) included several songs that were featured on ABC Family’s “The Vineyard.”
7:00 pm – Ghost Tour at Buffalo Trace Distillery, It’s rumored that there are more spirits at the Distillery than those aging in barrels. You will hear legendary stories and get a look at some of the Distillery’s most haunted areas, including Stony Point Mansion, where it’s been said that the ghost of Col. Blanton still resides. FREE.
