9:00 am – 4:00 pm – CCDW Class, at Anderson Christian Church, 1631 Bypass South, Lawrenceburg
This is the required class to obtain your Kentucky CCDW license. It is taught by a state certified instructor who must follow all the KRS laws. You will learn such things as the KRS that govern the CCDW, use of force, proper storage and safety while at home or carrying. At the conclusion of the class you will be required to pass a written open book test, completed a live fire portion, and learn about cleaning firearms. This is a basic gun safety course and will last roughly 7 hours. You need to bring a weapon, 50 rounds of ammo, ear and eye protection, and a pen to class. Limited seating available so sign up early.
Anyone putting a deposit down to hold their place will receive a $5 gift certificate to Fully Loaded‘s Gun Shop good on a purchase of $50 or more.

Telling the big story of Kentucky’s small-town capital city
In November of 2004, the Capital City Museum opened its doors to the public. Housed in a 150 year old building that represents all that is left of the Capital Hotel, which burned in 1917, the museum is a large room filled with history and character. There are plenty of details to explore, with exhibits painting a vivid picture of both political and personal life in Kentucky over the past 200 years.
The Capital City Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday
Admission to the museum is free.

Frankfort’s Fishing Reels: Jewels of the Bluegrass
Frankfort has a very unique place in history as being the town where the bait casting fishing reel was perfected and first produced. Every place has its historic event or figure, but only we have this distinction. It was a Frankfort industry for over 100 years. Local craftsmen handmade these gems to fish the renowned streams of central Kentucky. Their reputation for quality and beauty was recognized around the world.

Learn about Kentucky’s geography by making a physical map with handmade play dough. Build up the Appalachian Mountains, paint the regions, carve the rivers and label the state’s capital, Frankfort.
$10* for the first student, $5 for every additional student
*Members receive a $5 savings on each registration
Ages: 4-7 Younger are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult

12:30 – 4:00 pm – Scenic Train Ride!, at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum, 175 Beasley Rd, Versailles
Enjoy a ride through the rolling Kentucky countryside! Learn about railroading and local history! View tiny trains as they transverse tiny twisting tracks!
The Museum and Gift Shop open at 12:30, while the train will depart at 2. The ride is approximately 90 minutes, and includes a mid-ride stop, with the opportunity for passengers to disembark, walk up to the edge of the Young’s High Bridge, and overlook the Kentucky River Palisades.
There are restrooms at the station, but not on the train.

Guided tours start at Liberty Hall at 1:30 pm (Monday – Saturday). Tour begins at Liberty Hall, 218 Wilkinson St. Admission: $6 for adults; $3 for youth (15-18); Free for children 5 and under. Free for Friends of Liberty Hall.
Kentucky Made: Decorative Arts from the Liberty Hall Collection – Ongoing
Featuring some of the finest examples of Kentucky-made pieces from the Liberty Hall collection, this exhibit explores the social and cultural landscape of 19th-century Kentucky through the work of silversmiths, weavers, furniture makers, and . Some of the artists represented include: Asa Blanchard, Matthew Harris Jouett, Oliver Frazer, and Paul Sawyier. Located on the 2nd Floor of Liberty Hall, the exhibit is only viewed through a guided tour.

Mindful Nature Photography Workshop – July
for Teens and Adults
Immerse yourself in the natural world and express the wonders and delights you find there through photography. Don’t let gadgets get in your way! Learn to use your camera as a meditative tool for eliminating distractions and focusing on what is important.
You may want to register for more than one (offered monthly) so you can build on the work, ideas and skills you develop each month.
This workshop will provide:
* one-on-one tutoring on how to use your camera effectively
* fun and inspirational nature connection activities
* exploration of the park with technical support nearby
* print making with plant materials
Workshop Fee
$50 which includes personalized instruction and any additional materials or supplies, such as photo paper for making sunprints, etc. Space is limited, so please register in advance to save your spot!

Supplies & Equipment
Participants may use their own digital camera or borrow a Canon Powershot A800 (digital point-and-shoot). If you use your own camera, please make sure to charge your battery, bring an extra battery, and have available memory on your card. If you have a user’s manual for your camera, please bring it.
Bring snacks and water, and dress for walking in grassy areas. Check the weather forecast and be prepared to be photographing outdoors regardless of the weather. Cancellation due to severe weather will be posted on JSP’s Facebook page and website.
Instructor
Karen Lanier is a naturalist, photographer, author, and environmental educator. She has led youth photography classes since 2011, and reminds everyone to playfully explore the outdoors with child-like curiosity.

7:00 pm – Ghost Tour at Buffalo Trace Distillery, It’s rumored that there are more spirits at the Distillery than those aging in barrels. You will hear legendary stories and get a look at some of the Distillery’s most haunted areas, including Stony Point Mansion, where it’s been said that the ghost of Col. Blanton still resides. FREE. 7:00 – 10:00 pm – Rhythm & Roots Concert Series: Harmonic Dilemma, at Prodigy Vineyards and Winery, 4686 Versailles Rd
Join us for the 2nd annual Rhythm & Roots Summer Vineyard Concert Series. These family friendly concerts take place on the Peach Family Farm set against the backdrop of Prodigy’s vineyards and Central Kentucky’s finest horse farms. We invite local, very talented musicians to perform on our outdoor stage. Enjoy a night of music and food with Prodigy’s award winning wine or beer with family and friends!
Concerts take place on Saturday’s from June-September.
Prodigy Vineyards and Winery will be providing the food on concert night. The menu will change for each concert but guests will have their choice of meat, two sides, salad, and a non-alcoholic drink ticket.
$25.00 per person ticket includes your food ticket, drink ticket and cover for the concert for those that purchase before the event. $30.00 at the gate.
$10.00 per person for cover for those who do not want a meal.
Wine Club members receive discounted admission and priority seating.
Reserved seating is available by calling the winery prior to the day of the concert.
This is a family friendly event, and attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, tents, etc, for comfortable concert viewing.
Events are rain or shine. There will be designated smoking areas.
Coolers and outside food or drink are not permitted.
