On Thursday, Buffalo Trace Distillery welcomed hundreds into the distillery as they through the lights on their 2017 Lighting of the Trace. An early candlelight tour gave way to the Kentucky State University Concert Choir performing favorite Christmas carols for participants. Our favorite Buffalo Trace Elf, Candy Cane Karen, read stories to the kids before the official lighting ceremony. Later, Karen was joined by two other elves and Frankfort Mayor Bill May for the official Lighting of the Trace. KSU Concert Choir welcomed Santa and Mrs. Claus as they arrived on the old OFC Fire Truck. Hundreds gathered for photos with Santa and to tell them their wish lists while enjoying complimentary cookies and hot cocoa in the clubhouse. You may drive through the over 140,000 Christmas Lights at Buffalo Trace now through January 2nd. Admission is free. Lights are on nightly from DUSK until 11 pm.
