With the closing of the Frankfort Convention Center for its impending demise, the Frankfort YMCA was left to find a new venue for your annual Christmas Ball. And Western Hills High School met the challenge and fit those needs perfectly. Despite the changing of venue and the inclimate snowy weather, hundreds attended the 12th Annual YMCA Christmas Ball on Saturday. The Ball is an outstanding event hosted by the Frankfort YMCA that is designated for individuals with intellectual disabilities and special needs.

This free event featured a DJ with lots of dancing in the gymnasium, arts and crafts in a separate area with games, and food for the guests provided by Carino’s Catering. As always, the star of the evening was Santa as he made an appearance for free photos and to hear everyone’s wish list. The evening’s events wrapped up with the crowning of the King & Queen of the Christmas Ball, as well as a Prince and Princess, with special guest presenters from the Mrs. Kentucky Pageant Association.

This event would not be possible were it not for the army of volunteers from schools and other local organizations.
