As a little girl, who didn’t dream of being a ballerina for a day? The Frankfort Youth Ballet gave aspiring ballerinas just that opportunity on Sunday with an invitation for afternoon “tea” with the Sugar Plum Fairy. Those familiar with the popular Christmas ballet, know that “The Nutcracker” is a staple of the Frankfort community performed by the Frankfort Ballet School each December at the Grand Theatre. Children of all ages and levels participate in this grand tradition!
A few of the performers from the Frankfort School of Ballet‘s “Nutcracker” stopped by an office in South Frankfort to read stories, teach ballet moves, take photos, and engage these aspiring dancers. Several “stations” were held throughout, including the ones already mentioned, as well as make-and-take ornaments and snacks. Some little girls dressed as princesses and some in their Christmas finest. All of them were treated like princesses through the kindness of both the organizers’ and the young ballet performers’ volunteerism. Another great event for our Frankfort youth!
Catch the Frankfort School of Ballet‘s presentation of “The Nutcracker” this coming Friday and Saturday, December 15 & 16 with four performances available. Friday will be performances for school children. And Saturday are public performances.
