Beginners wheel throwing class meets from 9am-11am on Saturday mornings starting on FEB. 24TH-MARCH 4TH This class covers the basic foundations to throwing bowls, mugs and plates on the pottery wheel. You will learn how to trim, add handles and glaze your pieces. Seating is limited to 4. Unfortunately every once in a while class is canceled due to low enrollment. You will receive a full refund if that occurs. Age 14 on up Class fee $175 per person.

Telling the big story of Kentucky’s small-town capital city

In November of 2004, the Capital City Museum opened its doors to the public. Housed in a 150 year old building that represents all that is left of the Capital Hotel, which burned in 1917, the museum is a large room filled with history and character. There are plenty of details to explore, with exhibits painting a vivid picture of both political and personal life in Kentucky over the past 200 years.

The Capital City Museum is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Saturday

Admission to the museum is free.

Frankfort’s Fishing Reels: Jewels of the Bluegrass

Frankfort has a very unique place in history as being the town where the bait casting fishing reel was perfected and first produced. Every place has its historic event or figure, but only we have this distinction. It was a Frankfort industry for over 100 years. Local craftsmen handmade these gems to fish the renowned streams of central Kentucky. Their reputation for quality and beauty was recognized around the world.
