Louisville, Kentucky (Jan. 2, 2019) – The Sazerac Company, one of America’s oldest family owned, privately held distillers, has completed the purchase of a number of brands from Star Industries and Black Prince Distillery.  

The brands now under Sazerac’s ownership as a result of the sale include Georgi vodka and gin, Majorska vodka and gin, Alexis vodka, Alexi vodka, Llord’s cordials and liqueurs, Black Prince Scotch, Blansac Brandy, Caribaya Rum, Carnaby’s Gin, Clyde’s Gin, Devil Springs Vodka, Donegal Irish whiskey, Dorado Tequila, Duncan’s, Little John Gin, McColl’s, R.J. Hodges American whiskey, Sir Francis and Wild Flame cinnamon-flavored blended whiskey.

As part of the deal, Star Industries’ New Jersey-based Black Prince Distillery will continue to produce the acquired brands during a transition period of up to six months.

Star Industries was founded in 1934 in Sunnyside, Queens. The firm, based in Syosset, New York, also produces Waterford Gin and Casaleo wines.

The news comes just weeks after Sazerac purchased 19 brands from drinks giant Diageo in a deal worth $500 million.
