About Capital Living

Celebrating every day life in Kentucky’s Capital City, Capital Living’s circulation strategy and editorial direction are aimed at a dual audience of our community’s residents as well as the many tourists who visit each year.  Our feature articles invoke the dynamic lifestyle that’s all about the magic of the life in the historic state capital  –  the government, people, food, music, history and ideas that make this a great pleace to live, work, play and raise a family.  The pages of Capital Living will always be filled with community events, engaging commentary from local residents and insightful columns on issues that drive Franklin County.

Frankfort-based publisher Capital Living Magazine, LLC is proud to produce Capital Living.  The publication is a privately held company owned and operated by April Cole.

  1. Hello April,
Its almost time for the annual Bee Friendly Frankfort events.
The events are scheduled for March 6-8 and include some embellishments on last years program – including featuring the Bee Hive hairdo contest at the Beekeepers Jam Friday night.
I’d like to discuss how we can collaborate on promotion, particularly on our ideas of student (and perhaps) senior art and essay/poetry contests.
    Thanks in advance

  2. April, I am a native of Frankfort and a published author. Upon the suggestion of Terri Sorrell, former owner of Corinth Bookstore, I am requesting to advertise my books through Capital Living. I have a website where you can visit to see my published works.

I also have a brochure I could send you to use in the advertisement, if this would be of benefit to you. Thank you for this opportunity and look forward to hearing from you.

I have lived in Frankfort for 9 years now and love it here! Why does Frankfort not do more to bring in tourism? My sister lives in Bardstown and they do lots of events every year, including the bourbon festival, BBQ Pitmasters, craft fairs, and so much more! We are the capital of Kentucky and should be doing more events. I have a ton of ideas.

    • Actually, Frankfort Tourism is working very hard to bring a HUGE event to the area next weekend! The premier Frankfort River Blast will take place on Saturday, June 27th and will celebrate the opening of Locks 1-4 on the Kentucky River to the Ohio River. Many Ohio and Indiana boaters will be joining our celebration! Please come join us at the River View Park on Wilkinson Blvd beginning at 10 am. Music, food vendors, beer garden, flotilla, paddle races, a 3K run/walk, and a laser light show at 10 pm. It’ll be a BLAST!
