Finally! No rain. No snow. No ice. The 66th Annual Frankfort Jaycees Christmas Parade went off without a hitch through the streets of downtown Frankfort on Saturday night. The night time parade delighted hundreds of residents, who lined the streets of the parade route, while dozens of businesses and organizations proudly displayed their holiday spirit with displays of lights and decorations on floats and vehicles of every kind. Although just a bit on the chilly side, the rain moved out just in time for the much anticipated annual event. The parade was highlighted by the appearance of Santa on the Frankfort Trolley and the Kentucky State University Band performing seasonal favorites.
The Frankfort Jaycees invite the community to be a part of the 66th Annual Frankfort Jaycees Christmas Parade! We are looking forward to ringing in the holiday season with the people of Frankfort and Franklin County.
The parade will be held on Saturday, December 6th, and will be moved back to an evening parade, as requested by so many in the community. Step-off for the parade will be at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s Christmas parade theme is Celebration of Light. We know you will create wonderful, imaginative floats that are keeping with this theme. Awards will be presented for the best floats in the parade and the entries with the most Christmas spirit.
The staging area will again be in the parking area of the Old State Office building at the intersections of Clinton, High and Mero Streets. The route will be the same as last year – going out of the lot at the turn-about at High and Mero, onto Mero, left on Ann, right on Broadway, left on Washington, left on Main and back down High.
Parade participants must carefully read, complete and sign an Official Entry Form and Parade Rules (enclosed) and submit it along with the appropriate entry fee as detailed below to:

The Frankfort Jaycees Christmas Parade kicked off Saturday, December 8, 2012 in very wet, but rather mild weather. In spite of the damp conditions, a nice crowd showed up along the streets of downtown Frankfort to see the bands, floats and groups. The end of the parade was capped off by the Kentucky State University Band and Santa aboard the Downtown Frankfort Trolley. Candy was thrown to the kids and a good time was had by all!
