Community Volunteers who care about students’ and Frankfort’s future are the heart of Operation Preparation.

Once again we are asking for volunteers from our community to meet with 8^th and 10^th grade students on March 9^th and 10^th at Kentucky State University for this statewide initiative.

Volunteer advisors can come from any walk of life:

• Business
• Government
• College/ School/ University
• Community Service organizations
• PTA
• Career Centers
• Parents and Retirees

Volunteer advisors will be required to complete a 30- minute online training, sign a nondisclosure farm and follow all school district policies and procedures.

Operation Preparation is a joint effort of the Kentucky Department of Education and the Department of Workforce Development and provides a powerful opportunity for schools, students, parents and communities to collaborate in the process of effective advising and focus attention on the importance of planning for college and /or career.

Students will be grouped with an advisor (community volunteer) based on their career interest.  This will be a wonderful time for our students to learn more about the careers they are interested in and what it takes to make it a reality.  This type of meeting will provide both information and inspiration for the student to achieve college/career-readiness.
