inCommunity Volunteers who care about students’ and Frankfort’s future are the heart of Operation Preparation.
Once again we are asking for volunteers from our community to meet with 8th and 10th grade students on March 9th and 10th at Kentucky State University for this statewide initiative.
Volunteer advisors can come from any walk of life:
Volunteer advisors will be required to complete a 30- minute online training, sign a nondisclosure farm and follow all school district policies and procedures.
Operation Preparation is a joint effort of the Kentucky Department of Education and the Department of Workforce Development and provides a powerful opportunity for schools, students, parents and communities to collaborate in the process of effective advising and focus attention on the importance of planning for college and /or career.
Students will be grouped with an advisor (community volunteer) based on their career interest. This will be a wonderful time for our students to learn more about the careers they are interested in and what it takes to make it a reality. This type of meeting will provide both information and inspiration for the student to achieve college/career-readiness.
If you would be interested in sharing information about your career with our students then please fill out the attached form and return it to Kathleen Campbell at: kathleen.campbell@franklin.kyschools.us If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you Franklin County for helping us to ensure success for every student every day!
If you’re interested in volunteering for this event, contact Kathleen Campbell, Franklin County Public Schools, (502)695-6700.
